I was trying to get a feel from the CA Z'ers who have fairly extensive performance mods. As my TT is now a 2nd car, I want to start building it past where it is now. What will pass smog, and what will not? I know the main cats have to be on, and downpipes might get you failed on a visual inspection. Beyond that, what mods are likely to get you failed? Is there some point in the modification process where the car just starts putting out too many emissions to pass? With heavy mods, are there tricks to getting the car to pass (short of knowing the guy at the smog check place?)
